Finally took some audio/ video of my truck
I have been meaning to do this for a while after I installed my CAI and muffler, but I finally remembered to do it today. I took the video/ audio with my phone so it's not the best quality sound but I don't think it's too bad for a V6

Ok here is the audio files. The minute or so was me driving around, the 2nd part after the pause is the truck parked so you can hear what the idle sounds like and how it sounds when I rev it. It sounds a little raspy when it revs and it isn't under load (accelerating). It sounds much better when I'm actually in gear and accelerating than when it's sitting still in neutral and I'm revving it. Actually I think I put my phone too close to the tailpipe and that's why the 2nd part sounds like a bunch of non-distinct noise and racket coming from the exhaust. Oh well I will try again tomorrow I guess.

Yeah I am pretty satisfied too. I figured out how to make a stupid little youtube video for the audio files, I am going to include that here is just a minute when it's done processing or whatever.

That sounds pretty good! Do you remember off hand what part number that muffler was? I am looking for a new exhaust for my truck, and I really dont want to drop $400 on the gibson I was looking at.

Any 2.5" exhaust will work though, I would suggest getting it welded though. I used clamps and it leaks a little bit, I can hear the exhaust hissing a little bit when I really stomp on it. Bring it to a muffler shop and they should be able to do it pretty cheap, I would say you should be able to give them $40-50 to weld it on for you. I am going to do that soon. Keep in mind also that I have a cold air intake which makes the exhaust sound deeper.

I will be adding a cold air intake within the next couple weeks, as far as the exhaust, I will put it in the shop at the farm and weld it all myself. I can't seem to find any mufflers that sound good with the V6 until I heard yours, and there is one Gibson muffler that sounds decent but is pretty expensive.
Well crap if you can weld it yourself then you can get away with it pretty cheap. I bought my muffler from NAPA and had it shipped to the local store for free, ended up costing around $75 I think. And it sounds really good, not raspy and has a nice deep tone to it. I highly recommend it. Just dont expect it to sound fantastic until you put an intake on.
I dont expect much from my little 3.9 as it is lol. With the addition of the intake, muffler, new high flow cat, and O2 sensor, and the removal of the fan clutch, I should be in decent shape. Not looking for alot of performance, as I have my diesel's and big block mud trucks for that, but mileage is my main concern.
