You need to get a wiring diragram then figure out which wires get power when the key is in the start position. I want a true push start test drove a 2011 grand cherokee and love the fact that you dont even need to take your keys out of your pocket

Default push start

any chrysler auto trans after 1965 will NOT push start. unless they put a oil pump on the output shaft since then.

Moe...he is talking push-button starting...(I was confused about wiring a truck down the road at first glance...ha!)

Easy to do, pending if you want to do RF key fob, or if you want to just turn your key, then be able to push a button. The latter is easy, just need a diag like stated.

haha yeah not push start...push button. i'm wanting to pop the ignition out and hide it underdash with the key. i'm gonna use a pop out filler to plug the hole that the ignition was in, and pop the push button in the cig lighter hole in the one that's in the dash, so all i'll do is get in, push the cig lighter tray so it drops down...turn key and push the button... if i can get that bluetooth key that would be friggin awesome...my girls hynudai has that and i love that.

i have mine set up so you can hop in and use the key(for the wife) or for me, i flip 2 switches and push the button and away i go. you must disable the steering lock to use it without the key.

ill see if i have pics, but you need to pull the wheel off and remove the "dog", the piece that locks the shaft in place when the tummbler is not turned. ill look to see if i took pics. once its out you will no longer have a steering lock, just a fyi.
