Default Fuel Economy

Hey Guys what can I reasonably expect to get as fuel economy.

I have a 2001 4.7 4wd QC and I am getting 12.2 average mpg. Is that low or normal?

It seems low I used to have a 74 Bronco 302 headers and 3/4 cam and 650 holly on 37 inch rubber and I was getting about 10-11 mpg.

Thanks

No way a 4.7 QC is going to get 16 at least in the city. I average 12-13 in the city, and upwards of 19-21 on the highway. Turn off O/D in the city that may help a bit

Plus it depends how much stopping and starting you do in the city. If you live in a congested city with a lot of stop lights you are going to get worse mileage

You should see around 14-15 no problem. I see around 11-12 with my 5.2. In the city with lights and what not I burn through a 1/4 tank in about 10-20 miles.

With my bad mpg I see about 250 miles out of a tank, on a 4.7 you should see 300 miles at least.
