Was wondering how hard an engine swap from a 2000 4.7 to a later 318 or even a 360 would be, and if an auto transmission from a 4.7 would bolt up to a 318. Thanks
it wont, its completely different technology since the 4.7 replaced the 318, so im not sure what you mean by later 318 since the last one in daks was 1999. the transmission will not bolt up either. same goes for the 360, it will not work at all. you would need a different engine and cab wiring harness, ecu, different motor mounts, different tranny mounts, different tranny and t case. if you really dont want a 4.7 and you really do want a 318 or 360, you should sell the 4.7 and just buy a dak with either of those motors already outfitted with it.
