Looking at new tires
Well hey guys! I figured since i like my dakota i might as well join a forum for it. I got a 1998 dakota 3.9 2wd. I recently popped a tire though and my tires are pretty much done for. So what ive been looknig into lately is getting a new set of tires and a small lift. So what kind of mud tires would you guys say you can get your most bang for your buck? and what would be the cheapest lift i could do that would look decent from 2 to 4 inches taller?
2wd dont have torsion bars. Putting blocks in back will lower it, because the leaf spring is under the axle. I would suggest you look at the doetsch tech 3 inch suspension lift. Or if you are tight on money or just dont wanna spend that kind of money, get 3 inch lift coils off ebay and get some extended shackles (they actually lift a 2wd, even though it might say lowering shackles). There have been alot of threads recently about lifted 2wd's... Check them out.
Putting a polaris sticker on your dodge is like putting a ford sticker on your dodge lol JK Anyway depending how aggressive you want to go will depend on how much you wanna spend. Mud tires will wear a lot faster than all terrains. Cooper stt or st,
bfg mud terrians,
mickey thompson mtz,
wrangler mtr or duratrac,
Toyo open country,
firestone destination mt,
pro comp mud terrain.
Those are all good off road tires some might not agree but i've been through it all. You could go with a super swamper brand but they are extremely aggressive. I have bfg all terrians on my truck and they are a great all around tire(mud, snow, sand, wet roads) Some other less aggressive tires include nitto terra grappler, general grabber at2,hankook dynapro atm. I have also heard that the pro comp xtreme all terrain is in the middle of a mud and all terrain. I havent read a lot of reviews on them but from what I hear they are a all around good tire.

Nah pretty much everything we had polaris we had problems with all the time(atv wise) Depends what bfgs are you going with? My buddy had the st's on his truck which are more of a a/t and they did great in everything then on my woods jeep I had bfg mud terrains and they did very good. Its really hard to tell what good being your 2wd so you have no backup if you do loose traction.

It really depends do you do more driving on road or off. If you do a lot of on road then you want more of a a/t tire. I so far have 1,000 miles on my bfgs and they still look brand new. My buddy had those cooper st's on his ram and he got around 60k out of them. Thats with a lot of offroading and lots of drifting in the winter. I say coopers or bfg's you cant go wrong with either. Only thing im worried about is you being 2wd so might want a more aggressive tire like bfg mud terrain or cooper stt
