New Tires
its almost the same tread, just a different brand. i dont know if bfg is part of general but they sell them cheaper. if you want the bfg a/t but cant afford them people go with the grabbers.

This is what i like about this site. Discussion. What I got on there is 235/75/r15, on stock rims. I'm gonna call around on my next day off and find out what the two tire places in town have and post them. I know walmart's got the wrangeler at, and a uniroyal tire. The Liberator AT, dont know much about the uniroyal.
Uniroyal's are good tires, my dad runs the Liberators on his ram and he likes them a lot and fairly cheap in cost.
Bfg has nothing to do with General! Totally different companies. Although Uniroyal and BFG...same company.
This is true, and Michelin and BFG are also made by the same company. The big tire manufacturers like Michelin and Goodyear have a lot of smaller private brands too, like Goodyear makes Kelly Arizonian and Pathfinder. And the BFG AT and General AT have similar looking tread but not exactly the same. You can stud the General but not the BFG.
How much snow and ice could they see in TX? lol

These are the tires I have. I live in Florida, so I can't speak to thier snow/ ice capabilities...but so far they are GREAT on dry and wet roads. Fantastic wet traction even in a torrential Florida downpour. They are also very long lasting...I had the stock Goodyear Wranglers on there and had to replace them at 29k miles because the tread was gone...Have had the Pirelli's on for about 23k miles and haven't noticed any appreciable tread wear. They are quiet, ride smooth, and have good grip and handling.
I got them at Tire Kingdom, about $580 installed for all 4 I believe. They were supposed to be more but I haggled with the guy and told him I only had $600 to spend, and he hooked me up I guess.
The snow/ ice ratings on tirerack.com for the Pirelli's are from 7.3 to 8.0...in the "excellent" range.
I highly recommend them.
