TOO MUCH air coming into intake? (4" vs 3" intake decision)

Thanks for the replies everyone! Great thoughts here. I didn't even THINK about the throttle body size. I think Rakaric might have hit the nail on the head though. I could put a 10" pipe on the thing, but if the air still has to squeeze through the 3" throttle body, then, it doesn't really matter then.

Looks like I am removing my air intake cover and doing some measuring!

Yea ...what you have to aim for is high density areas. Fender...grille...thats where higher density exists. It also exists on the windshield, which for my hood, i'd have to build an intake that goes into the hood. The air will flow through the cowl area and somewhat increase the psi. Of course, its only like .1 psi at about 70mph...still neat project nonetheless. I already have a cutout mocked up...just never transferred it to metal. Just a lot of factors that play a role in the design.
