i have heard of people talking about 'dumps' on here what is it and what does it do?

Instead of running long, heavy exhaust pipes all the way to the back of the truck, "dumps" are when you use short exhaust pipes (usually pointing downward) right after the muffler. This saves weight and is typically louder than the OEM tailpipe because of the echo from underneath the truck.

well it could be a couple of things....when I hear dumps I think an actual mechanical DUMP that hydrolically lowers or raises the truck at the psuh of a button...low rider concept. But I think the DUMP you are looking at is as the other guy just said...short piping it...or it could mean POOP!

not necessarily, I think its pretty much any exhaust thats cut off short and usually aimed down instead of out the back.
