Default 2000 4.7 Surging and dying

Hi, needing some advice for a 2000 4.7. My issue is engine dying and surge while the engine seems to be trying to compensate. When the problem first started it was real bad, the truck did not want to run at all going down the road. I took it to a mechanic and when they cleared the codes it quit acting up. The engine now mainly acts up in the mornings, sometimes the cruise control light comes on, after 3 or 4 restarts it runs fine for the rest of the day. I replaced the TPS which seemed to smooth the idle a bit but I'm still back to the same issue. I'm thinking it could possibly be a MAF or O2 sensor acting up. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
