dumb question - adjusting rear view mirror

Default dumb question - adjusting rear view mirror

Got a 2000 Dakota. The rear view mirror seems to be electronically adjusted, i can`t move it by hand bu cant find the buttons to adjust it with. Any hints

the rearview mirror on the windshield or the side view on the outside of the truck? they dont make an electronic adjustable rearview mirror, only in the auto dimming, compass, rear camera kind of thing. your mirror is probally just stuck in one spot. i would take it off the bracket of the window and work it free while not on the glass, you may tear the button off of the window. just my $0.02

You mean like in the picture below?

Turn it to the left to adjust the drivers mirror, to the right for the passenger.

Its the rear view attached to the windshield. Sorry for the confusion. Doesnt want to move by hand. It has two buttons on the mirror itself (off/auto) and wires coming from the mirror into the top of the cab.

wow, i am dumb. it moved, it was just stiff. a better question is what is the function of the off/auto buttons??

Off/auto is for the auto adjusting for nighttime to prevent blinding by other's headlights. Just like the lever on most rearviews, but it does it by itself...

what he said^^^. it auto dimming for the headlights behind you at night.
