Rear bumper restoration finished

Default Rear bumper restoration finished

alright so here's what I had to work with....Pretty nasty photo-9.jpg

so I took the plastic off and sanded, then hit it with primer. Liking my awesome spray shield?????

I hit the covers with a trim paint

then painted the bumper with the same paint as the wheels and fenders

Looks good tho I think it would of been a bit easier just to take the bumper off lol

Especially if there was rust. When i first did it it looked good, but the rust still continued from the inside until it formed a hole. I ended up redoing it and welding a new piece in. The metal thinned out so much in certain areas. Took me a whole weekend to get it fixed and painted. So far its holdung up well and no rust, but the real test is winter....especially since i have salt in the bed during the season for work.

The inside was coated by the previous owner with some kind of herculiner? Undercoating maybe.
