Default Dash Removal 97 Dakota

Hi,

I needed some real fun so I am replacing my blower motor and heater core ect. My question is: I am removing the dash and there are two connectors one smaller one bigger down by the emergency brake pedal. They are the main connectors running about a bizillion wires into the dash. What releases these connectors? I cannot seem to get them to release by squeezing what appers to be the release catch. Thanks for any help............I need it! LOL.

A lot of good my damn haynes manual is. I know on my buddys ram the one by the parking brake it had a screw on the top of it and you unscrewed it and the connector pulled off.
