Default got bit by the perfoemance bug

SCT tuner is on way, and I have the 180 thermostat in hand.

next paycheck: textbooks and 4.10's
paycheck after that: 1.7 Roller Rockers
paycheck after that- taurus or HHR efan + chassis dyno (to give data back to Sean)

Kinda glad it's a V6...I can only do so much....limits how much I can spend. LOL

exactly. Hopefully after the efan, I will be done. I want to keep it stock-appearing. I don't think I'll even do exhaust, since there's not much you can do with a V6, other than make it sound like a V6. And besides that, if they used the same size piping as the V8 (which i doubt, but you never know), then it should be more than plenty for the V6 anyways. I'd like to do a cone air filter or CAI, but since I spend as much time off road as I do on track, the CAI just wouldn't be worth it, and a straight intake tube + cone would just suck in engine heat. So I'm just gonna hang with the stock in and out, and just play with whats in the middle.

Im currently bit by the ole bangbang toy bug..figure they can limit those a lot easier, so i'll get the controversial toys first, then finish the truck...

I hate living paycheck to paycheck

I'm kind of glad I don't have the money because I know I would be spending it. I have too many other bills and things to pay for that I never end up getting any mods for the truck. Only maintenance stuff.

Sounds like it wont be such a dog anymore! Do you have the 3.7 or the 3.9? Any thoughts on getting a fastman TB?

3.9 with a V8 throttle body

no idea on the fastmans.

FYI hit the track tonight, about to crunch numbers.

Some additional inexpensive mods are an undersized crank pulley and a free flow muffler. I didn't want to go the full expense of an exhaust so I just bought the muffler for about $40 from Summit. It made it a little throatier without making it sound like something it's not.

I'm gonna make an attempt to do the thermostat tomorrow. Sean's SCT tuner will also be arriving tomorrow.

instead of spending 750 bucks on a gear swap why dont you spend 300 on a methanol injection kit?
