I've heard/experienced lots of great things from this seller. I got gears for my 85 power ram there. Price everything out there. There are 2 types of gears too high performance and oem replacement they differ in about 200.00 lol

My friend had a set of 4:10s installed in his 03 mach 1 and it was $350 for the labor. So $450 might be a bit high but then again it's the other side of the country and I don't know what prices are like out there... This was done at a Ford stealership.

ok the guy came down to $750 firm ($350 labor) based on what I C&P'd from here.

To solve my financial vs timing issue, I'm going to follow one of the statements that is on my "murphy's law" poster above my bed:

"In order to get a loan, you must first prove you don't need it"

I'm making $100 a week right now. Once school starts, it will be $200 a week. I need to build some credit, so I'm gonna try to pull a $1200 personal loan over 8 months- 17 payments of $73. Long enough to effect my credit score, short enough that I can have it paid off easily and quickly.

$750- gears
$250- roller rockers
$100- pushrods
$100- room for fudging.

That should let me do gears all day next thursday, and if John gets me the 1.7 RR's by thursday, those will go in friday.

Not sure the loan will help with a credit score, but it is payments against something, so who knows. Get a credit card, put your gas on it, or something you know you can pay off every month. Thats how I got going.

750 sounds so high..then again, I do everything my self, so $40 for oil changes and such is ludicrous. (spaceballs flashback for anyone as neurotic as me).

My local 4x4 shop charges (or at least as of summer of '10) $600 for rear gear swap, which includes gears, install kit, fluids and labor. $650 for fronts. He didn't do mine because I didn't know the guy existed in '05 when I had mine done, but I've sent a good half dozen people there (most are/were members here) and he's never done a set yet that whined.
He used to do the 500 mile fluid swap/inspection for free but I think he's charging $50 for it on his own installs now.

Randy's Ring & Pinion is a good place to buy. Their prices aren't the lowest on the 'net, but their sales people have more axle knowledge than most installers.

Moe's Performance is good for price as is AirRam...
