Default Need some Electronic Help

So last month my antenna for my truck snapped. I went over to autozone and purchased a new one. Tried installing it but it didn't work out to well, as you all know the angle of the hole cut out for the antenna is at a steep angle.
I really couldn't find a good replacement without having to go to the dealer and getting the OEM replacement, if they even have one.

I was wondering if there was a way to create a homemade antenna from scrap parts because I really don't want to waste any more money on this.
Or if there is an aftermarket antenna that you guys know of that won't be too much.

Unhappy dealer or cheap ???

I could not find an antenna that fits a Dakota looked for years only thing that works is a cheap fit all antenna but they never fit all that well but they do work.

The only antenna that is an exact fit is from the dealership at about $140 yes $140 for an antenna talk about rip off.

That is the only one that will fit perfect.

I do believe the OEM discount places may have a better deal than the dealership give a look.

I just looked the mast alone is $75 that’s just the mast you still need 5 other parts you can’t just buy an everything needed kit like at stores.

thunder98110
I know there are many cheap fit all models that will work but only the dealership models fit exactly.
I’m not knocking the cheap ones they just fit louse and rattle on you.
I don’t even listen to the radio now it’s all crap I use my pioneer mp3 CD player no commercials ever.
So the $140 was a waste of cash.

Junk yard is your best bet they will prob charge you 5.00 for one. Oh and what part did you snap off? Is it the rod part cause if it is I think that just unscrews.
