Default Turn signal issue.

I got a 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab V6 2WD with a bit over 230,000 km's.
Recently, past week the turn signals started to act up. At first it would be intermittent but now it doesn't want to turn on. the 4-ways work. I am gearing towards the Turn Signal Flasher relay or the MFS. Any idea on what else it can be? The Haynes manual is not helping on this, and I want to make sure I don't gaf up the electrical.

Ideas would help.

Thanks.

There's only a couple of parts to the system, the combination flasher and the multifunction switch.

Does it matter which direction your signalling? If not, I'd say combination flasher. It makes more sense than the MFS failing both directions at the same time.
