Searched around a bit, but couldn't really find anything... But anyways, I installed the cruise control module into my '02 Dakota SXT and just finished putting in a single dim, 7" touch screen deck, but my question is, has anyone successfully installed a steering wheel with radio and cruise control buttons?

The same thing I would find in my '10 Tacoma stock. Anyone got some insight or ideas?

I have never seen a Dakota with steering wheel radio controls. I don't think it is/was available. You can check with the parts guys at the Dodge dealer to be sure.

Steering wheel controls are listed in the 2000 wiring diagram.

You had to have the RAZ radio, AM/FM/CD/Cassette with a 3 band equalizer.

That's probably why you don't see many out there.

It's the same in 2001.

 

I am corrected, did not know it was available on a Dakota. I did check and found these steering wheel control adapters for an 02 Dakota on the Crutchfield website, no idea if they will work for you though.

Sorry about posting wrong info. I just have never seen a Dakota with steering wheel radio controls, and I don't really remember anyone here posting about it either, but maybe some have and I never saw that, either.

All Data shows it listed for '99 also.
With am/fm/cd-eq also.
(I've never seen it either).

 

I've got the 1999 Dakota Ext. Cab 4x4 with the stereo in question and the steering wheel switches do in fact exist. My right switch for volume control just fell out and i can't find a replacement on line. Later model switches are available but nothing that old.

Any insight on where they can be found would be greatly appreciated.

 

Part number I come up with is 4685619AB. Do a google search on that number, and there are a couple vendors that their site shows they are available...... Can't say about the reliability of those sites though.
