Default 03 4.7 overdrive trouble

today my 03 started randomly dropping out of overdrive. it started out only dropping out for a second or two but got worse as i tried to make it home. it almost seems as if the trans is slipping. i've already checked the fluid level and it is full and has nice clean red fluid in it. however, i did notice the fluid was slightly foamy. what could be causing this? checking on the internet, i found that it could be an ecu related issue or the trans pump seal could have a leak. is there a way to figure out the problem? i'm trying to avoid a trans shop if possible.

Remove the pan and inspect the valve body for a broken side plate. If the plate is broken I have the part numbers for the repair kit. If it not broken, then you may need to go to a transmission shop.

master tech- can i get the part number? i might go ahead purchase the kit so i can replace the part while i have the pan off. also gonna put a new filter on it while the pan is off.
