Default Tires

I have a 2001 Dakota and I'm wondering what size of tires I should have on it. The door sticker says they should be 15's but my truck has 16's. What is the normal tire size for that year of Dakota with 16" wheels?

Biggest tire size that came on daks from the factory were 31's You can email dodge and get a build sheet for your truck so you can see what it all came with.

When I got mine with about 120k on the clock it had 255/65/16 and I think on the door jam it says like 235 or something... I went ahead and got 265/70/16's lol. So it doesn't really matter what the door sticker says except obviously don't get a ridiculous size tire that won't fit.

edit: Also don't forget that if you get bigger tires, your speedometer will be off. Mine reads about 3-5 mph slow now. So when it says 80, I'm goin 85 haha and the cop's probably won't buy it.

It wouldnt be the factory that would change the tires it would be the dealer. Maybe if the owner ordered a truck and didnt like the wheel and tire combo so had the dealer switch it with another truck.
