for the love of god please do not do 55W I have 35W and they are plenty bright. There is no reason to have your driving lights that bright.

Default My understanding is

My understanding is you need round focusing lenses for the hids headlights to function correctly if you look at almost all new cars that have them from the factory they are in a round flashlight like lens.

like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-97-04-Dakota-98-03-Durango-Dual-Twin-CCFL-Halo-LED-Chrome-Headlights-Lamps-/130602464809?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Make%3ADodge%7CModel%3ADakota%7CYear%3A1998& vxp=mtr&hash=item1e68837629

Anyone seen these yet http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-04-DODGE-...89303570504274

They're called projectors, and no you don't need them. The lights pictured aren't projectors, just regular lenses.

Trent479, this is what you need. Bulbs and ballasts.

The line into the ballast connects to the old headlight connectors, and the bulbs go into headlights, done. 35w is plenty enough, but I warn you 8000k is more on the blue side, and tends to **** off people in general. 6000k/5300k are alot more white and tend not to agitate the eyes so much. They will work fine in the euro style headlights so long as you aim them properly, down and to the right. If you have them aimed to high you'll be blinding oncoming traffic, and eventually get ticketed for it.

You wont be happy with 35watt as headlights. I have 55wat(as of everybody else I know) My fogs are only 35watt and you can tell a big difference in the light output. I know its comparing them to headlights but trust me you can tell. I got my kit from mydepots.com as well as 4 other people I know have the same kit. Hid's are not meant to be used in lights with diffusers(like the stock dakota lights) They are meant for clear lenses(aftermarket) I used mine in my stock lights and I could tell a little bit of difference when I put my aftermarket ones in but not a huge difference.
