Default Spark plugs and small issue at front axle

when i had put my new ones in i cranked them as tight as the old ones (which were really tight) when apparently that is completely wrong. how much should i have them cranked down? i dont want to damage anything.

other question is what should i do? i noticed this when i was looking at my fogs the other day

hand tight with just the extension then just a 1/4 turn. they were probably tight b/c they didnt use anti seize and over time the heat and cold welds them in there.

Or, buy a torque wrench.

thunder that would explain why my one plug was acutally cold welded, it was a bi*ch to get out after snapping the plug. i should probably just take all 6 out and throw some anti seize on them?

Ok for my '02 4.7 engine, the plugs are only supposed to be torqued to 20ftlbs. Let me tell you, that was barely passed finger tight but that is what the service manual stated as well as other forum members.
As for the pics:
From what I can tell, you have a bad axle seal on the front. (3rd pic) Can't really tell where the othere leak is located but also looks like a seal. These aren't too bad to fix. Let me know where the other pic is located on the truck.

The 30 foot pound figure is from the FSM, on the 3.9

20 foot pounds is correct for the 4.7
27 foot pounds for the 2.5
30 foot pounds for the 5.2 and 5.9

Are these both on the same side of the front differential?
