Default removing a seat in a dakota

well i've been trying to get the sat out and it has rivets all in it and I realize that usually u just drill them out but i cant really get to the 2 rivets in the front of the seat that connect the seat to the center console. Also wanted to say this has to be the dumbest design that I have ever seen. I've never encountered seats that were riveted at all, usually just bolt straight to the floor. Any tips? Is there a way to take the seat cushion off which would then give me access? thanks

My 2000 seats are bolted. Swapped seats from a 99 a few years ago. 2000 seat were alot more narrow. Half of my left *** cheek fell off the edge.

Default I think

I don’t think they are riveted on but bolted on I think you are looking at the wrong thing.

My 1998 base truck had some nice bench seats but all vinyl I hate vinyl so I had a custom shop sew on some nice auto fabric and they installed more foam and Dacron fill Love those seats and after 11 years still in great shape.

If you are talking about the bench seat it has 8 bolts and comes out all in 1 piece.

ok well what my seat has and the seat has in the junk yard is 4 bolts per seat. 2 in the front 2 in the rear. Then where the driver seat meets the middle seat/center console area there are rivets that go through the seat frame and 2 rivets that are on the bracket for the seat belt, beteween the driver and middle seat. I can take pics tomorrow but I can assure there are rivets and I've seen it on more then my dakota

Default Rivets!?!?

My 98 CC has the bucket seats & stationary center-seat/console setup. I've uninstalled/re-installed them a few times now. My Dakota had been mercilessly 'effed with by previous owners but thankfully no rivets where bolts should reside.
Between the strange quarks that I’ve read about on 2nd Gen Dakotas and the nonsensical issues that I've repaired with my own Dakota, the more murky they become.

Definitely post pics of what’s going on. Also; type of cab (quad, club, regular) would help in narrowing things down. I will get back to you with (best-I can) help/suggestions.

after you take the bolt out the rivets are still there and need to come out. The seat is also connected through the frame of the driver seat to the center console/seat
