Default 98 Dakota CTM problems

Looking for help on how to test the CTM on the 98 dakota. I was also told it was behind the wall on drivers side. Didn't see it although I hear clicking behind dash on passenger side.

It's behind the passenger side kick panel.

What is the issue? There is no "self test."

Wow, Just found it. It seems to be hung up on something at the top. I can't see up there to see if there is another plug. I have unpluged the two at the bottom.
To give you a little back ground. When I picked up my truck having the motor rebuilt and when I got home, my horn would blow like the alarm was going, my wipers would start working by themselves, I have no reverse lights even after changeing the bulbs. But I could deal with that by unpluging the horns. lol But now she won't start. I beleive while my motor was being rebuilt, someone triied to steal it due to my rear veiw mirror was missing. I didn't have this problem before. What a mess.

Yes. I see the chrystler emblem on the CTM. It won't come out though. It seems to be stuck on something. I may have forgotten to mention that my keyless remote is not working as well. When my key touches the last slot, thats when the horn starts to blow.

If it's like an '00 then you have to take off the glove box. The CTM and its bracket come out together through that opening.

Do you have any CEL codes?

I took out the glove box and there is no access to the CTM. I can't even touch it though the glove box. I can wiggel the CTM around but it is catch on something. I'm going to try again Friday. Does the CTM sound like the problem to you.

Part of it sounds more like a bad ground. The backup lights and wipers share a ground, near the battery. Might have happened while the motor was pulled.

The horn sounding does act like the security system. Is the light on the dash on?

No alarm light is showing on the dash. Going out now to check some more.
