Took the truck to my dads shop, let him listen to it, and from what we could hear (Even for a lifetime mechanic) is uncertain. He says if anything it is probably a rod bearing. I didn't ask him much more then that as he was pretty busy at the time. So I am thinking if that is what he thinks it is, then he is probably right. Especially since crateampsrock pretty much said the same thing.

So my question now is... How hard is it to change these bearings in this particular truck? Any suggestions? I changed some (with guidance) in a vehicle without ever taking the engine out (small 3 cyl). Is this possible here? I am fairly certain the top end is fine. There is no smoke at all. And with 175k on the odometer I am guessing it is pretty much due for rod and main bearings anyway. At the moment I dont have the spare funds nor the desire for a full rebuild. Any suggestions or helpful links appreciated Thanks guys!
