Cleaning the throttle body tomorrow!
I knew that disconnecting the battery would clear the CEL but I thought it would have re-tripped after a mile or so of driving. I'll see what happens tomorrow when I drive to work. ALSO; I had a small reverse to drive weirdness/stall goings on to but this totally cleared that up.
I wasn't given the code(s) when I failed inspection last month but the mechanic did tell me that it had something to with either my upstream O2, downstream O2 or both. I have both a new up & downstream O2 by NTK in my glove box now. I planned on getting them installed this past weekend but I couldn't break the threads loose; even with the exhaust still hot. I'm hoping my Uncle (a mechanic) can help me out with this either sometime this week or next week.
I thought about either cleaning the IAC or replacing it but I'm gonna see how things go with what I did today first. One of the stipulations I had for buying my Dakota was a tranny rebuild and the replacement of one or more (I can't remember) of the tranny solenoids. So I got lucky there...if they actually did it
. I have a standing one-year guarantee on it so I should be fine if anything should go awry.
(I think I already told you this) The Map that I bought on Ebay was made by Standard Motor Parts - I think I said that I paid $14 for it but after shipping fees, it totaled-out to $17 and change. Still a good price. Hopefully it'll workout well!
Good luck on your IAC replacement - let me know how it goes for you and the positives that you see from it.
Thanks for the always helpful advice.
