I dont really like the sliding trays. You lose a lot of space because of the wheel wells. And things can fall off the sides.

I've decided to go full bed, and make it as tall as the wheel wells and make one big deck back there good for camping too! with a flip up lid near the front of the bed about 30" long. and the back of the bed closest to the tail gate i'm goin to try to make a sliding drawer.

So going to make some final measurments and I'll be set! Wish me luck.

you can get boxes that sit below the bed rail, that's what I have in my truck and absolutely love it. I don't think I could own another truck with out one

http://www.tool-boxes.net/wheel-well-box/

found these interesting cause i have a bed cover and was looking for storage underneath the bed rails so i wouldn't have to change the cover. I do like the idea of having in bed storage with ability to still use your truck bed as a bed and not loose length with a tool box under rail or on the rail. also i've noticed that the bed has indents in the wheel wells and on the sides of the bed that look like you could rest say a 2x4 on it and then just drop a piece of ply wood ontop to make what i think your trying to do, then just add some easy access plastic bins if you want to roll it out and get to everything.

Well it's all built and installed. And it turned out pretty damn good. Works great, lots of extra storage. Unfortenly my computer wont let me upload pics right now. So I'll get some up once my computer stops being a piece of crap.
