DO use anti-size compound on all threads, and bottom of bolt heads. you need to tighten in two steps. on first tighten take them to 70-80 % of full torque. then after 4-5 heat cycles torque to full amount. if it starts to leek before 4-5 cycles retighten then.

Default good one

good one moe7404 because the 2.5 had problems with exhaust bolts snapping off it happened to me the first few months of ownership my warrantee covered it and they gave me an extended warrantee.

I think it was an un-official recall it was a known problem with the 2.5 engine snapping off exhaust bolts.

I was told never get these bolts cranked on tight just snug they need room to expand.

98 you are so right " just snug". just info, the 413-440s on chryslers came from the factory with OUT ext manafold gaskets. my guess was that the ext manifold and head was very flat, enough to seal with NO gasket. but it seams that once it is removed you need gaskets. just more info ,the slant 6 the exhaust manifold nut 10 ft lbs, which all so clamps the intake. they are not easy to do right. NEW INFO FOR 2.5. note: i just read the factory info on tightening. i recommend you find a good book to fallow it is not easy, each bolt is a different torque, and spacers have to be centered on stud.

I finally found time to actually do it today. It took about 2 hours since I also cleaned my intake manifold. It bolted right up, no problems whatsoever. It sounds much more aggresive and it looks great! Took her for a test run and it is much looser now. I can feel a considerable difference in acceleration. I'll post pics later.

It has a lot more torque, doesn't take much to break traction on the rear wheels anymore. The acceleration is much smoother and don't have to lean on her as much anymore to get up to speed. The best part though is I dont have to downshift as much going uphill .

Thumbs up Thats great

00daksport25 that’s great

This is the one upgrade I want to do real bad but it’s got to wait money is low again it may take me a year before that gets done too bad you couldn’t get the new performance injectors installed at the same time.

Did you do anything to the intake manifold at all?

What kind of manifold gasket did you use?

Could you give me the model number of the exhaust you got so I know what to order?

My A/C has been eating up my money again that A/C is like the bottomless pit of money for me my A/C controller just roached on me.

Great job by the way Love it

I’m not sure why but my 2.5 has been just screaming as of late this is the best she has run in years must be all those sensors I replaced.
