Default Might be getting back into a Dakota!

If you have been on this forum long enough you will know that I have sold my old Dakota, and now I currently own a Jeep which is for sale btw so if anyone is interested let me know! Anyways haha. I'm looking to back into a Dakota, some priorities got switched up and now I need something different. My buddy and myself are looking to buy a smaller house around next summer. I figured that I should start saving now for a down payment and therefore I need to get back into something "cheaper". Not dissing Dakota's, you guys know I loved my old one. I'm looking at trying to spend under 8k or so, Right now it looks like my best bet will be a 04 3.7L RWD 5 SPD for about 7k. Do you guys think that the V6 is that much weaker then the V8? I know I had my old kota pretty built up but I'm just trying to get some better mileage as well as save a few dollars. Any opinions would be great! Thanks guys!

I have a 3.9 and it's fine. The pick up is good. But it's also a regular cab. So a good amount lighter

The 3.7L puts out around 210hp, its not too far behind the 4.7L. Not too mention the 5spd and 2wd will probably make it more tolerable. But it doesn't have much aftermarket from what I can tell (not that the 4.7L has tons haha).

If it was me, I'd look for a 4.7L if possible.

Well I am just trying to find a manual Vehicle that is under 8k or so. some dakotas fit it that area so I thought I might go back into one since I enjoyed my last one. If you have any ideas on a different kind of vehicle let me know.

Thats a good one Thunder! Why are you selling yours?
