Pennzoil Synchromesh is what I used and what most people recommend. If the 1500 is anything like the 3500 I have, you'll need a hand pump to pump the fluid into the trans. Some people think it's easier to take the shifter off but I really don't think it's any easier. You can get a pump at NAPA or Advance for like $5. It screws on the top of the container and pumps the fluid through a hose into the trans.
The drain nut on the 3500 is a large Allen. I don't remember the exact size but its like 3/4" or 7/8". I found a set at Sears that came with 4: 18,19mm and 3/4" and 7/8" and it ran me like $20 but you need it.

You need to use an approved "syncromesh" fluid. The shop manual says: "Required lubricant for the NV1500 is Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant, P/N 4761526. This is the only lubricant to be used in NV1500 transmissions."
Lots of people run the Pennzoil Syncromesh without issues.
Just make sure it is compatible. It's not ATF and it's not regular "gear" oil.
