TO: Jonnymoon5 moe here. i just had my V-6 2001 dak changed from 3.55 to a 4.10. my friends here told me i DONT want 4.56s. iam very happy with my 4.10. my MPG went from 9 to 13, in town ONLY. cause the trans shifts it overdrive at 35 mph, that gives it the 13 mpg. i do not think you will like 4.56, unless its a street racer. motive gear 4.10 gears C8.25-4.10, dana/spicer locker 84852, install kit DRK303B, 75W90 synthetic gear lube VV975. my shop would NOT give the swap any warranty. all so i have seen that i get much lower mpg than most people

I have put 4.56's in MANY dodge trucks.....

If you had a older truck with a 727 the issue of not liking the 56's might be true to a speed related issue.

so you're saying 4.11's are better than the 4.56's?

4.11's are gonna bring you back to that all around happy medium like when it was stock. Going to 4.56's is going to make your rpms go up on the highway and make it a pain to drive. But its all up to you.

4.56's with 33's at 65 will be right around 2100/2200

This isn't 1980 and no OD ratios

The difference between 4.11 and 4.56 is around 300 rpm... which is better for a heavy vehicle to use the 4.56

just for the heck of it since i know nothing about the calculators, im going 75 at 2k about, whats my approx gearing?. I found these on Ringpinion.com , a 2.76, 3.21, 4.56, and 4.88 Also didnt stock they come with 3.54 or 3.73?

I got the 5.2 with a auto. Id like a bit better city mpg, 11 is hard on the wallet, but id like to keep as close to the 20mpg hwy as possible or better, my driving style varies throughout the year, from 200 miles a week hwy in the summer to 40 miles a week city in the school year and maybe another 30 hwy miles.

Sorry in advance lol

If your tires are 29" tall with 4.56's you'll be at 2500 at 70mph
