Why the hell would us Dakota mid-size truck owners with F/I and smaller 4.7L motor, only get 15-16 mpg in the first place ?

Window sticker 12 City 16 Highway on my 2002 4x4 Quad 4.7

Plus a Quad Cab V8 has almost the same curb weight and GVWR as a Ford 150 or Chevy 1500. I mean its basicly a smaller 1500/150 even tho the 4.6 Ford 4x4 was rated at 13/18MPG and the 4.8 Chevy 4x4 was 13/16

The Dodge 1500 4x4 4.7 was 11/16MPG

I used a 2002 model year and a extened/crew cab for all my EPA specs

And I agree on the items not paying for them selfs in MPG

Put the Gale Banks Power Pack on the Motorhome, went from 6.5 MPG to 8.3 (Interstate 75MPH 19,500LBS towing 5,000 GCW 24,500LBS) at the nearly 1,800 for the system it will take 15,000 miles to pay off at $3.30 a gallon. Now was the extra 85HP and 120 FT LB TQ worth it???? HELL YEA!!!!
Diesels are a different story

It is all in the tires. I run the stock tire size and I get 21 mpg running 65-70 mph. A friend has the same truck and runs larger tires and gets 18.
