Default WORTH IT $ (exhaust, computer chip, air intake ?

I have a 2000 SLT Quad Cab with the V-8. It only gets 15.8 mpg (like most of us,...or all) I'm asking all of you that have made the these improvements if the end cost was worth the money, not only for mpg, but also performance. The mpg is the most importment.

Exhaust- Heart Throb, Flowmaster, Magnaflow etc....

Computer chip- Hypertech, Fastchip, etc....

Air intake- K & N, Airaid, etc...

I have a 3.9 v6 2wd with the 3.55 gears. I put a K&N drop in and a cherry bomb glass pack on for mods. I get around 23 MPG mixed driving. I spent about $150 on mods and definitely worth it. Also go to stock tire size in street form instead of an all terrain.

When I first purchased it it had 32" BFG A/T's on it. I got 400 kms to 65 liters of gas. When I put stock size 235 75 r15 street tires on it went up to 450 kms to 65 liters of gas. After mods I now get anywhere from 500 to 550 kms to 65 liters of fuel. Depends how I drive as well and what percentage is high way.

You might be able to bump it up a mpg or 2 but your pretty much at your limits unless you are a manual. Go with a sct tuner
You dont need a 200.00 intake, the cheap ebay ones do the same for a 1/8th of the cost.
Exhaust is up to you flowmaster is kinda restrictive(no better than stock) Dynomax and magnaflow have a straight through design. Which helps it breath better.

Mods will never pay for themselves in the savings you get on gas. Just want to make that clear.

I hoped I wouldn't hear that ! lol

Here's some prices for the air intake. I've never bought from "Street Side Auto". K & N for $200. The lowest price for the K & N is ebay, and the no name brands are really cheap, but how about the quality ???.

MINE HAS THE SQUARE HAT, NOT THE ROUND.

What do you guys think ?
