My service engine light is on and the error code is "cylinder misfire". I'll check the plenum thread and perform the PCV test Tom A mentioned. Also, the service engine light flashes repeatedly every onece in awhile.

I removed the PCV valve and tested as noted above and i didnt really feel a vacuum, but the vent tube did have oil in it. Is that normal?

the cylinder misfire code is the common code that comes up when the plenum is blown and enough oil is getting into the intake to cause the cylinder misfire. Like every one said plenum repair kit time. Or if you really want to go all out spend the money on the hughes air gap intake cause then you will never have to worry about a plenum gasket again. Only problems is that it cost $600

Well, I installed the plenum repair kit and I still have blueish/whitish smoke coming out of the exhaust. Initially I thought maybe it was just the reminant oil in the pipes burning off, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The gasket that I replaced was actually in pretty good shape. The service engine light isnt on anymore. What next :-( !
