odometer says "no bus"?

Try wiggling the ecu connectors in the engine bay that goes into the ecu.
When I got the "no bus" my engine would die and wouldn't start till i wiggled the ecu wire. On the 5.9, the circuit board would crack overtime causing the truck to not start. In your situation, it could just be a bad connection. Try cleaning the terminals off the ecu if they look like they have corrosion.

no bu5 fix
i had this EXACT or very SIMLIAR problem. your power control module is going bad which is located under the hood. in your case you are very lucky that your truck is still running. no bu5 can be in this situation that the pcm is going bad or is bad. so since your truck still runs it means its going bad. not to bring bad luck to you but it wont be soon till your truck wont even start. i strongly suggest that you get a new or remanufactured PCM so u dont run into this problem. if you dont, more power to you if you do then the fix is another pcm ok. good luck
