Default 9" or 11"

How do i tell if my breaks are 9" or 11" without pulling the wheel and stuff off?

Hard to tell without looking at them. But 9 inch pretty standard

Default its not 9" or 11"

its not 9" or 11" its 9" or 10" that I know of and the 9" usualy have what look like heat fins on them.

Like this but I have seen some 10" with the fins also

only way to be sure is measure them inside from side to side.

You should even with new drums have them turned to get them 100% true but every auto store tells you its not needed to get you out the door.

Don't rule out 11 inch...

From the 2000 FSM:
Drum Brake Size . . . . . . . . . . . . . 279 x 57 mm (11 x 2.25 in.)

From the 2001 FSM:
Drum brakes on all models are dual shoe, internal expanding units with an automatic self adjusting mechanism (Fig. 24). Nine inch and eleven inch brakes are used.

Pull the wheel, it's the easiest way.

Thats a new one on me 11" inside? Was that on the newer 2-nd gen Dak's 2000 and up?

look on your glove box sticker, it says right on there. @ crateamsprock, i think your backwards, my 4x4 has 11'
