He keeps saying he hears it click like it is trying to start doesn’t that mean the wiring is fine?

If it can be made to turn the compressor and the clutch clicks but not start we are back to low or to high Freon in the system.

Or a bad clutch weak clutch that will not hold it

The clicking is from the relay not from the clutch.

Now that could be wiring

You sure you hear the relay clicking not the clutch?

One fuse is for the clutch relay coil, that's all it does. It does not run the clutch itself.

The other fuse is for the a/c clutch and horn. Did you check BOTH fuses?

Check for power to pin 30 at the a/c clutch relay socket. It is fed from the horn/clutch fuse.

Well Gentlemen, I have to very embarrassedly report it was the 20 amp horn/ac fuse in the power distribution box under the hood. The compressor is now cycling on & off like its low on freon. So I'll have it charged tomorrow & there it is. Thank you very much for the help.

Glad to have been of service.

Good luck with the a/c.
