Default t-case?

i just bought a 2001 dodge dakota sport for 1500 bucks. but here the thing in awd the truck bind up and snap out of a bind around turns going straight its fine. i switched to the 4hi and no binding or noise smooth as hell. so what could this be. its a 244d t-case does the t-case need to be replaced? or could it be something else? im stumped but for 1500 buck and only 70k on it i couldnt pass it up.

It should bind only in 4hi or 4lo. You shouldn't have any binding in AWD. The differential in the t-case should eliminate that.

Start with the basics. Check the fluid level. Make sure the tires are inflated correctly.

The CV joints can bind but, they'd be more likely to make noise when under a great deal of strain, turning while in 4hi, not while in AWD.
