Default Driver Side Window Problem

Hey Dakota Universe,

The other day I closed the driver side door on my 2003 qc 4.7l and the window fell into the door.

I have figured out what the problem is: there is a small piece of plastic on the the glide mechanism(holds the windows in place), which holds the two wires together from the motor. This piece has broken, which in turn will not allow the window to go up and down because there is no tension.

The dealership is wanting to charge me $250 for the whole regulator assembly.

I was wondering if anybody out there is not using and/or parting out a driver side which I can buy the little gilder mechanism from.

Thanks in advance!

Default $30 to $50 for new DIY it

Go to http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...arcode=1413010

look in Body-Interior : Power Window Motor & Regulator Assembly

This should be the correct page for your 2003 Dak

$60to $80 for new DIY it

You could also try a local auto store like autozone they can get it for you

Unfortunately it is not the regulator, which works perfectly fine. It is the little plastic piece that holds the two cables together on the sliding mechanism, this is what I am looking for...

It's part of the regulator assembly and not sold separately. You can maybe try to make something work or pick up a replacement regulator.

Without a motor it's about $47 from Rockauto. You can reuse your existing motor.

Sorry I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a whole new regulator assembly...but that is what it is seeming like...

Just get one at autozone or some other parts store(rock auto will work fine if you dont need it right away) I had to get one for my dads 04 jeep. Was 70.00 at autozone. Took about 30min for the whole job.

The regulators from Rock Auto are worse than the factory versions. I installed one and it broke in less than six months. Rock Auto was the lowest cost. You get what you pay for.
