I'm putting my money on the rad cap as the issue and going to buy a new one, non-third party cap. This is just like the stupid gas cap issue I have been having. When I bought the truck three months ago, it had the orig. Dodge gas cap and is non-locking. I figured I would buy a new "locking" gas cap. Since then, I have been getting engine code P0452 (or something like that) which is a vap leak. I have to keep adjusting the gas cap to get the engine light to go out after a day or so. I put the orig Dodge gas cap back on and have not had an issue/engine light since.

My point is... the previous owner put an after-market rad cap on there and when I took it in for service, the dealer mentioned it and said "you should replace that rad cap with a Dodge rad cap"... I think this after-market cap is failing and this is why the issue is intermittent.

I just had that problem wit my 00 r/t n found that the leak was comin from my radiator but still had all or most water in my reservoir after a week . my mechanic told me my radiator was bad and wasn holding pressure even tho I was running it without a thermostat so I just replaces the radiator to a 4core and is running cooler and I put a thermostat bak on it. so it could be your radiator
