Transmission - Dealer Can't Figure It Out
Thanks
I always wondered if it was a common AX-15 problem well a minor problem it’s just irritating in the winter time.
Funny I go through a ritual all gear shifting before I even put it in and go just to get it going you could say even in the summer.
Like Bless this AX-15 shift shift shift shift shift ok I’m good lets go. ha ha how funny.
I even do it at the first stop or two shift shift shift shift its ingrained into my driving like a bad habit.
But that’s an AX-15 I guess

First i would change the fluid, and if that doesn't help. Then you need to replace the shift fork rail in the transmission.

If you ordered the mopar master overhaul kit, it comes with check ***** for the valve body. But doesn't come with solenoids.

I was wondering if replacing just the shift ***** and new springs would help?
Changed the oil already
Is that a teardown?

Ok just thinking just maybe?
Got to give it a try thanks
what you are talking about is a compleat R&R correct?
What happened to the shift fork rail gets a groove in it or gets bent?
Also why is it only bad in cold weather not hot? The oil is just very thick in cold weather I use synthetic oil in it

I use the Mobile 1 fully synthetic 75W 95 stuff yea-yea-yea I know they say it eats up your syncros but it’s been in my AX-15 for 5 years with no problems at all. I want to switch to the Redline MT-90 all the Jeepers love it for their AX-15's
I have heard of so many different oils to use in the AX-15 as to drive you crazy.

I knew you were going to say that
Thanks but no
I appreciate your educated opinion and many years of experience don’t get me wrong but I will not do that. Switch to the redline MT-90 but not that.
I still say why only when it’s cold?
Actually it seems like you can poor almost anything in the AX-15 and it will run some better than others.
When I switched to the Mobile 1 it actually did help a small bit.
