Well I don’t drive all that much these days so 3 years ago I dropped down to an oil change every 6 months but this year I decided to only change my oil 1 time a year and oil filter every other oil change those Mobile 1 oil filters are great she has had synthetic oil all her life so her insides are very clean 0 sludge to worry about.

Synthetic isn't worth the money for a Dakota. In my opinion, synthetic is only worth it for a performance oriented vehicle. It cost a lot more for no improvement really. You could run Supertech from Walmart and so long as you change it every 3-4k miles, the motor will run just as well and long as someone who uses synthetic. I think too many people thing synthetic is the end all, be all of oil and if you don't run it, your engine will only last half as long...

I've run synthetic, synthetic blend, conventional, high mileage and there is no noticeable difference in the performance of my truck. In fact my engine had way more of a tick when I ran M1 full synthetic then when I used conventional.

I just think synthetic is a complete waste of money for a Dakota.

Do you have the owners manual?

Check the fuse for the interior lights, 5 amp I think.

Sorry I can't be more help. The wiring changed quite a bit over the years.

I have a similar problem, with the radio. I'm not sure why, but the 12V wire isn't getting 12V's. So I'm going to run a temporary jumper straight from the under the hood fuse box to the back of the radio... Should work. I'll let you know if it does!

Yea I have the book I think I was the first one to open it the other day looking for the 2nd fuse. Now the I think about my room light did quit working. If that's not it I might try the same thing just to see if the CD player is fried.
