Heater blower not working

Depending upon the year the controller illumination DOES use the same ground as the motor.

What year is your truck Whitedak - and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the replys OODakDan and magnetHead, and thanks for the welcome as well. I Have a 01' four door Dakota. Finding out that the resistor has control of ground for the fan lets me understand whats going on better. Im really good at taking off bad parts and putting on new, not so good at the in's and outs. That takes experience. Thanks again gentlemen, ill be buying a new resistor, and checking the bulbs in the climate control cluster, and will let you guys know.

well, for time being, my brother in-law and i just wired the fan up to a switch. It only runs on high, and sounds like a hurricane, but at least i have heat where i need it. I Saved the connector that went to the fan so once i buy a new resistor, ill solder the fan plug back in and dismiss the switch. Ill keep you guys posted.
