good to know.

apparently for us 2WD's they even make a 4.88. Not that the 8.25 could hold the tires it'd require (37's?)

I get my stuff from randys. Usually pretty good. They make a 5.38 for my truck. 5.38s would be CRAZY! I would prob top out at 60mph lol

Not trying to hijack this but...

If I were to buy 4.10 gears for my truck, what exactly would I have to buy? Is there a complete kit for the 8.25?

I don't think I'd do it myself, but it would be cheaper to bring the parts to my mechanic than to have them supply it.

I went to an off-road shop that's well known, I let him pick everything out. But generally you'll want the R&P and a rebuild kit to replace all the bearings.

no one is expecting good gas milage from a truck.. its always good to know for incase someone whos looking for a truck and wants to know what the best mpg's are.. maybe someone cant afford 2 vehicles and pay for 2 insurances.. but needs a truck.. so what you think they are going to do .. they are going to look up best mpg for a truck.. lol OR if they want to just make it a little better fuel efficent whats wrong with that? people arent aloud to ask or do that lol?

I understand but you can’t expect good gas mileage from a V8 4X4 big tire truck even with everything perfect you may expect a 2 or 3 mpg gain out of such a vehicle if that it’s just not going to happen plus your driving habits have a lot to do with your mpg.

To do so you would need to strip out the goodies you like the most such as big tires and a V6 not a V8 even though from my understanding the V6 gets about the same gas mileage poor design I guess.

No argument just stating the facts if you want to play you’re going to pay

I guess you could have two sets of tires smaller ones for city driving and the big tires for play its an option the truck will not look as cool but???

This is what I'm doing for racing. Keep the 265/70/16's for daily driving/play, and a set of small tires on 15x7 rims for racing. And there's some people that do the same with play rigs, have a small set for driving and a big set for mudding.

Front ring and pinion in 4.10 - $284.99
Front bearing kit $149.99
Rear ring and pinion in 4.10 ratio- $349.99
Rear install kit- $149.99
Parts total - $934.96
Labour is estimated at 8 hours to install perfectly in both axles at $80/ hour - $640
Plus tax and gear oil approx 5-6 litres at approx$10/ litre.
Estimated total of $1847.50 all in out the door.
We would recommend bringing the truck back after 500-800km of gentle use, and change out the gear oil, as there will be shavings in the oil, this is normal due to the gear break in, but we need to get the shavings out, and get clean oil in ithe diffs at that point.
Thanks for the opportunity to quote
