Default Lifted Dakota Mpgs

Hey, so i was bored one day and i was curious what my MPG's were. im from canada so its all km per litre here. so i did the math and triple checked it.. here i thought my MPG's werent that bad.. i found out THEY SUCK! haha i get
7-8Mpg city
10-12mpg highway depends on were i go highway wise .. up in the mountain highways or what not

my truck has an intake, dumped exhaust and 33x12" Duratracs tires with 3" body and i have a 4.7L with 190000km on motor all highway
now either everyone else is over exadurating there MPG's or something wrong with my truck?

but im not complaining about it at all really so im just curious if im the only one getting that MPG now ill just call them Smiles per galon haha <-- dont ask

I have a 5.2 with 5-speed, 33" tires, 4.10 gears, and about 8" of lift. My little MPG display inside the truck tells me I get about 11MPG average. The speedo has been corrected, so that's probably not all that far off.

mine is uncorrected and I haven't checked mine in a good while, but I'm around 11-12 mixed, but mostly city

3.78 liters to a gallon, .63 kilo to a mile, so you're getting about 11 kilometers per gallon -> 3 kilometers per liter city and 4.6 highway, Turner?

3.9 4x4 3 Inch body but still 31x10.5x15.

I get about 14 city and 16 highway.

Those numbers(yours) seem a little scary to me.

Yeah I wanted to throw 33's on mine till I found out that regearing to 4.10 gears is over $1000.

She's gonna stay on 31's for quite a while.

4.10's would be pretty good I think. If you do any driving over 60 you will hate having anything over 4.10's

The big tires are is whats killing you. I had 98 dakota auto 4x4 5.2 sct, cai, dumped exhuast, 32x11.50x15's bfg's. I got about 12-14mpg depending how I drive.

The 4.10's are good to a 33, around 35 is where you want 4.56's.

I stuck 4.10's in mine to unload the V6 around town and it helped some. It doesn't bog near as bad.

You can try to make more power with the gears you have now, or bite the ~$1500 bullet for a 4x4 and stick 4.56's in both ends. Since you have the 4.7 and 33's with alot of hilly terrain, the 56's might be worth the extra bits of a point. I don't know if they make a 4.56 for the front diff though? (I don't know what the diff model is to look it up). I know the 8.25 and 9.25 are only good to 4.56.

They make 4.11 for front and rear and 4.56's for the front and rear.
