Agreed .. wow i thought it was cheaper then that haha $800 max i would spend on changing the gears. ill suffer without the gears lol haha

Who says you can't get good mpg with a truck 18mpg average here!

If you guys weren't in Canada, I could sell you my front and rear axles that already have 4.10 gears. But it would probably be cheaper for you to drive here than for me to ship them.

lol i didnt even think about look for used axles haha..

Trying to find used axles in decent shape hasn't been easy even in Vancouver. Most are 3.92 ratio with a million miles on them. Think I'll save and spend the 2k to re&re my axles. **** or wheels....both cost ya cash.

I think mine was on the order of $400 for parts and $600 install at 100/hour (again, was a well known off road shop in the area) for RWD only, 4.10's.

I'm debating having a lunchbox locker put in when I go to a smaller tire to keep things held together.

FWIW I have nitro gears.

thats i6 power for ya lol, diesels are the way to go.

im getting about 10.5mpg in my ram on 35s with 4.10s with the 5.9l gasser. when i had my dakota i was getting about 15mpg on 32s with 3.55s with the 3.9l gasser 5speed

Yeah thats not too bad for a 5.9

Mine is stock, run 31x10.5 by 15 on it and did a single in dual out exhaust, put a straight pipe on the intake, over 230000. miles 12 city and 19 highway when i stay out of it, which is 98% of the time.

I've got an 03 QC 5.9 with a drop in K&N filter turning 315/75/16s and I average around 11-13mpg
