Default Stuff in oil

I have like greasy yellow stuff under my oil cap. Nothing is in on the dip stick. Don't think I have a blown head cause no loss of power, and not blowing smoke. What could it be?

It's condensation and VERY NORMAL for the 4.7.

you need a new PVC valve. the PVC valve is not getting the moisture out of the crank case.

A new PCV valve may help but it won't eliminate it.

It's a design flaw, plain and simple. The oil filler, where the PCV is located, is plastic and COLD. Water condenses out and you get the foamy mess. Come summer, no problem.

I've had it on mine for 13 years.

Default stat

a cold stat my do that. the engine is made to at work at high temp. if you run a 160 degree stat it will not get hot enough to keep water out. remember acids are water base. less water =less acid= good for oil

It will do that with the stock thermostat. That's what I'm running. Again, it's a design flaw and if you have a 4.7 it's a given. There was a TSB about it as well but all it really does is "hide" it behind a cover.
