Default 2000 dakota odometer and speedometer not working?

Hey guys so i have a 2000 dakota SLT with the V6 engine and 4X4. And i cant get my speedometer to work or my odometer to count miles. I have changed the Abs Sensor, the output speed sensor on the tranny, replaced the ecm, and changed the instrument cluster but nothing has fixed it yet? Anything that i have missed or anything else i can do?? Thanks i need all the help i can get.

Are you showing any codes? Try the key on, off, on, off, on trick.

Then, test your cluster:

Key off.
Hold the trip reset button in and while holding, turn the key on. Keep holding until CHEC appears in the odometer window - it'll take about 10 seconds.

Release the button.

You'll see the gauges sweep. Any problems will display codes in the odometer window. I'm betting you'll have at least 920, 921, and 999.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes i did reset the computer. I did the test on the guage cluster. And There are no codes that it will bring up. So I'm thinking i might be a wire but the mechanics checked all the wires. or at least they said they did. Is it possible something could be messed up in the rear differential causeing the magnetic sensor not to read it?

this is a long shot but here goes, has the diff fluid ever been changed? If so was the magnet at bottom of housing wiped free of all metal dust?, because what happens is the magnet gets full of metal dust, then adheres to the next magnetic item..the anti-lock brake sensor.

I suggest cleaning out the Diff also unless it was done recently

Every 5 years is good unless you 4X4 a lot then one time a year

Ya I think i am going to do that cause the fluid has probably never been changed. And then i can i also get a better look on what is going on in there. Do you know what kind of axles they put on these trucks?

Decent vid on a jeep but same as a Dakota one screw-up clean both cover and the Diff then apply the RTV sealer and only apply it on one surface not both that’s way too much RTV If using a gasket also then apply to both sides

Don’t forget to inspect inside real good clean the magnet also an spray clean with a can of brake cleaner spray let the cleaner evaporate for a while before putting it back together
