Thanks. I purchased it from the original owner. I think he did a pretty good job of keeping it up. I’m just running though all of the maintenance items to be sure they’ve all been done.

The distilled water will steal electrolytes from the antifreeze and the parts of the cooling system. My dad has seen distilled water eat iron.

I never used distilled water in my older vehicles.

Maybe Chrysler is recommending it in the Owners Manual and the Shop Manual so you ruin the engine faster and need a new vehicle?

I did it today.

There are two screws holding the top shroud and two that holding the lower.

I could drain about 1.5 gallons from the system using the radiator drain and the lower radiator hose removed at the engine. The draincock for the radiator can be accessed from the hole in the air dam that you use to get to your oil filter.

I drained and flushed with distilled water until I had about 5% antifreeze concentrate still in the system, and refilled with Zerex G-05.

I did break most of the plastic plug things that hold the air dam in place. Luckily I have a box of the exact same ones in the garage (I bought them for plugs in my Jeep).

I haven’t touched the bleed screw yet as it appears I can get the fluid in and the air out from the cap. I’m going to do the start/heat up/cool down thing a few times tomorrow to makes sure it’s all good.
