I think the rear sway bar was a part or the factory tow package. I have the tow package (on build sheet) and rear sway.

Could be. I don't have a build sheet, but I think I have the tow package (looks like original equipment receiver hitch). Mine is also a Sport, so it might be part of that package. In any case, I found it to be pretty useless.

Yeah, I have the SXT package it's probably a part of the tow package. Anyway, I'll probably be taking my rear sway off too. I won't be towing anything with it once I get my diesel all built up

On my old Nissan i even took off my front sway bar for better articulation. It did give a little more sway up front but was find if you got used to it. It almost looks like your rear axle was from under a vehicle with a more narrow frame. You can check the tightness of the u bolts on the rear end and also check the leaf spring bushings as this can cause some shift or movement.

On Joe's post on the first page. On the last pic it looks like where the spring pad and all is at, it looks like it has been moved more outside. Could just be the picture but you can see some rust on the axle tube next to it

My axle is fine. Unfortunately the wide angle lense can make things look distorted.

I looked at another 4X4 QC Dakota today and I'm seeing the same minor 3/8"-ish offset towards the right side like mine. I'm not going to worry about it anymore, in fact I only started paying attention after I Plasti-dipped my wheels.
