We have been having some timber cut on our land so me and my dad go to see what it looks like. He decides to take my truck and drive it around up there. Long story short Goodyear Wrangler Radials are not off road tires. We drove about 7 miles before someone told us we had a flat. Keep in mind these are 2 month old tires. We pull over and put the spare on and make it home safely. So now my dad is buying me another tire and I won't be off roading until these tires wear out. I am not getting these again. There cheap but I did notice they were a little soft.

 

where did it puncture and what punctured it?

I tried goodyears on my truck, way too soft of a compound. Didn't even make it 30,000 miles. Firestone destination AT's, much better, and the preferred choice of much of the forum.

 

tried the Goodyear on my Durango and hated them. So once my Dakota is on the road getting another set of Cooper Discoverer AT Have them Over a year and they are still way above the limit of worrying about new ones.

 

It put a pretty big hole in the side wall. I thing it was a small stump. I knew for $82 these were too good to be true. But I've gotta use them.

Wife now has them on her '03 TrailBlazer.

The best combo tire for good off road and great street.

Edit: Curious which Goodyear you got at that price. Even the sucky RSA (?) were much more expensive ($125 maybe) a few years ago, and the SRT, which are much better, go for some $150 or so. Neither come close to the $175 Destination AT.

Look them up on Tirerack.com, then call the Firestone service guys to match the price. They care less about the profit and more about the units sold.

Depends what you hit it wouldn't matter what tire you had. I have 4 brand new general grabber at2 and went along side a piece of sheet metal under the snow. Long story short it cut a 5 inch hole and these are pretty tough tires.

 

They suck! They were on my dads 07 ram and at 18,000 miles we replaced them cause they were the worst tire ever. There was only about 25% tread left anyway!

 

I gotta agree with stealth13 here. I know how frustrating it is. I put 4 new "MAY POPS"- cheapies on wifes spirit at work many yrs back. I drove it home 2.5Mi, we got a foot of fresh snow overnight so I left her my trk & drove the spirit 2.5 Mi to work that am. After plowing, I noticed the flat, it was destroyed. I drove it 2.5Mi in deep snow never noticing the flat tire. Slipping, sliding & fish tailing it the whole way. The shop paid for the new-new tire for me! Nice!! Many of us have hit $&+% on or off road with new treads & woke up to a flat in the morning. Or maybe the valve stem or bead was leaking a little bit? You'll prob never know for sure. It sucks but at least you only spent $82 where most of us are paying near double that for LT tires. I think this was more of a fluke than Goodyear sucks, their not my 1st choice either, but for that price, I'd put them on my trucks.

 

Well don’t crucify Goodyear just yet every tire company has a low grade cheap tire or two or three.

Like my Goodyear’s they were Wal-Mart Goodyear’s or a tire specially made for Wal-Mart so a lower quality tire but still a good tire only drawback is they suck in wet weather and slide way more than I want or like but in Arizona they work great as we don’t see much in the way of wet roads they have been a good mid-grade tire for me and would buy them again well maybe.

All tire companies have some low and mid quality tires just understand what you are getting compared to what you want/need.

I always look for a high mileage rating and if they don’t last that long get a discount on the next set it can work to your advantage if you work it.
